Betty May.(Smith) Garrett, 94, of Shoals, passed away on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at Westview Nursing and Rehabilitation, Bedford.

Born April 2, 1931 in Olney, Illinois, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Smith.

Betty married Don H. Garrett on May 15, 1964 and he preceded her in death on February 18, 2008.

She worked as a cashier at Jones Oil Company for many years.

Betty loved shopping, getting her nails done, attending the rodeo, sunbathing, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving to cherish her memory are her children, Donna (Dave) Braser, Emily (Alan) Gilmore, Mary Ann Ragsdale, Pat (Denise) Garrett, Linda Mott, Michael Schwager, and Lori (Drew) Butler; Grandchildren, Jay (Bryna) Dahlin, Brook (Bridget) Dahlin, Andrew (Gaelen) Miller, Kevin Miller, David Brown, Lisa Sanders, Gil (Brooke) Garrett, Audrey (Chad) Gibson, Olivia Garrett, Betty Ann, Denise Kopp, Jason, Trish (Brandon) McKibben, Cody (Kim) Bauer, Kayla Hembree, and Taylor Atkison; 35 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Don; and son, Don Douglas Garrett.

Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at the Queen-Lee Chapel of George Funeral Care, with Bill Bauer officiating. Burial will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from Noon until the service hour on Sunday at the Queen-Lee Chapel, Shoals,

Pallbearers are: Brydon McKibben, Cody Bauer, Gil Garrett, Kevin Miller, Brook Dahlin and David Brown.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, in memory of Betty M. Garrett.
