Georgia “Gerry” (Bond) Stewart, 84, of Shoals, formerly of Dayton, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at Memorial Hospital, Jasper.

Born September 24, 1940 in Dayton, Ohio, she was the daughter of Lee Roy and Leona (Powell) Bond.

Gerry graduated from West Carrollton High School in Ohio.

She was a homemaker, managed a seamstress shop, and was a school bus driver.

Gerry married Harold William “Bill” Stewart on June 10, 1961 in Dayton, Ohio, and he survives.

She enjoyed sewing, gardening, embroidery, cooking, square dancing, and spending time with her family especially her dog, Ellie.

Gerry was a member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Loogootee.

Surviving to cherish her memory are her husband, Bill, of Shoals; daughter, Robin Stewart, of Burton, Ohio; two granddaughters, Samantha Nicole (Donald John) Kingsford and Megan Leigh (Michael) Grande; great-grandchildren, Donald John Jr., Nicole Ann, and Henry William Kingsford; one brother, Harry Dale Bond; two sisters, Paula Cox and Mary Sams; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Harold William Stewart Jr.; and ten brothers and sisters.

Cremation was chosen.

A Celebration of Life for Gerry will be held on Friday, March 21st from 2-5pm at Zion Lutheran Church in Dayton, Ohio.

Additionally, a remembrance will take place at St. John's Church in Loogootee, Indiana on Sunday, March 16th during regular service hours.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Queen-Lee Chapel of George Funeral Care, Shoals, Indiana.
