Gerald L. Schmidt Jr., 60, of Shoals, passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2024 at his residence.

Born November 24, 1963 in Fairfax, Virginia, he was the son of Gerald L and Margaret (Smith) Schmidt.

He graduated from Greenfield High School and served in the United States Army.

Gerald married Donna Adams on July 6, 1998 and she survives.

He worked at Perdue Farms for many years. Gerald enjoyed farming and raising cattle. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, which he and Donna had ridden to every state except for New York, Connecticut, and New Jersey.

Surviving are his wife, Donna; sister, Lara LaMontange; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and close friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral service will be at Noon on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at the Queen-Lee Chapel in Shoals.

Visitation will be from 10 A.M. until the hour of service on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at the Queen-Lee Chapel of George Funeral Care. Military rites will be conducted by members of the Shoals American Legion Post #61. Cremation will follow.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital in Memory of Gerald Schmidt Jr.
