James Leroy Haycox

James Leroy Haycox, age 84, formerly of Shoals, passed away Sunday February 12th, 2017 at 7:30pm, at the Northwest Manor Health Care Facility in Indianapolis. He was born on July 22, 1932 in Daviess County to James Elmer and Myrtle Mae (Schnarr) Haycox. He married Claribel Harris and she preceded him in death. He was a self-employed auto mechanic and operated Haycox Garage, located on Highway 550 in Shoals. He is survived by a son, Herbert Haycox of Tell City, daughter-in-law Eloise Haycox of Shoals, daughter-in-law Rolanda Haycox of Brownsburg, two sisters, Hazel (Ishmael) Whitney of Mooresville, AnnaBelle Hedrick of Washington, one brother, George William “Bill” Haycox of Jasper, Brother-in-law Roy Raney of Jasper and grandchildren, Chad Haycox, Carla Haycox and Ryan Haycox. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, two sons Donald Haycox and James Haycox, and two sisters, Ethel Raney and Marie Kamplain. Burial will be in the Alfordsville Cemetery at a later date.
