Jon Patrick Brown 62, of Shoals passed away on Saturday May 1, 2021 at Jasper Memorial Hospital.
Born August 1, 1958, in Martin County, he was the son of John E. and Carrie Elizabeth (Arvin) Brown.
Pat was a 1976 graduate of Columbus North High School and attended Ball State University, where he was a member of the Sigma Tau Gamma Fraternity.
Pat had been an insurance agent in Shoals, Loogootee and Columbus for many years. Pat was a gifted trap shooter and belonged to several Gun Clubs in the Shoals/Loogootee area. Pat was an avid reader and he enjoyed history and genealogy. He was also a dog lover and always enjoyed the company of his Australian Shepherds, Trouble and Yogi.
Pat was an active member of the Bedford Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution for many years and also was a member of the Loogootee Chapter of the Knights of Columbus.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his sister, Lisa Golay of Louisville; nephew, Benjamin (Katie) Golay; and great-niece and great-nephew, Isabella, and Jacob all of San Diego.
Pat was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law, David Hicks. Along with his parents, his shepherd Trouble would have greeted him in Heaven for his next amazing journey.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Very Rev. J. Kenneth Walker at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, May 15, 2021 at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in Shoals. Burial will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in Shoals.
Memorial contributions may be made to: St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the Martin County Humane Society.
The Queen-Lee Chapel of the Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes has been entrusted with the arrangements.
