Jonathan Payne, 17, of Shoals, passed away on Friday May 19, 2023.

Born February 15, 2006, in Paoli, he was the son of James A. Payne and Starla A. Enlow.

Jonathan was a student at Shoals High School.

He loved hunting, fishing, working on cars, helping people, and spending time with his family and friends.

Jonathan was involved in the youth group at Dover Hill Christian Union Church.

Surviving are his parents, James Payne and Starla Enlow; siblings, Caleb (Tonya Probasco) Payne, Ashley Marie Payne and her significant other, Austin Payne and his significant other, Mary Elizabeth Enlow, Ethan Payne, and Emily Payne; nieces and nephews, Axel and Bradley Payne, Juniper and Gwendolyn Shartzer, and Max and Jase Payne; paternal grandmother, Barbara Payne; maternal grandmother, Bobbi Dean Julian; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, George Payne; maternal grandfather, Walter Eugene Enlow; and uncle Nathan Enlow.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at the Queen-Lee Chapel of George Funeral Care in Shoals, with Matt Sullivan officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Valley Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11 A.M. until the service hour at the Queen-Lee Chapel in Shoals.

The family requests guests wear casual clothing or even their favorite camouflage.
