Raydies D. “Tater” Thimling age 93, of Shoals, passed away November 23, 2019 at the Daviess Community Hospital in Washington. He was born June 12, 1926 in Martin County to Martin and Elizabeth (Hoffman) Thimling. He married Ruth Tow on October 18, 1956 and she preceded him in death in 2005.
He retired from National Gypsum with thirty-three and a half years of service, was a farmer, truck driver and served as Democrat Committeeman for twenty years. He was a member of the Shoals Christian Church, the Shoals American Legion for sixty-five years and was a Veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean War.
“Tater” was preceded in death by his wife and three brothers, Ambrose, Lenise and Frank Thimling.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Monday, December 2, 2019 at the Queen-Lee Chapel with burial in the Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
